Unilabs becomes the first solar-powered lab in Jordan

Unilabs, the leading laboratory in Jordan, has recently announced the conversion into renewable energy to operate all its branches, making it the first solar-powered laboratory in Jordan.

Unilabs is now ready to take advantage of renewable energy by producing its daily power needs, thanks to the energy supplied by its own purpose-built solar farm in Al-Salt.

Unilabs’ conversion to solar energy stems from its eagerness to protect the environment for future generations by reducing its carbon footprint. This pioneering step comes in line with the lab’s vision to become a role model in this sector by contributing positively towards environmental sustainability.

Commenting on the transformation, Dr. Hussein Saleh Ali, CEO and Founder of Unilabs, said: “We are proud to be the first laboratory in Jordan to move to solar energy. We see it as a statement of our mission to be a good corporate citizen serving the needs of our community and its citizens by employing a renewable energy source and minimizing our carbon footprint, which has always been a top priority.”

It is worth mentioning that all medical diagnostic services provided by Unilabs are accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Health. Unilabs also holds a healthcare quality certificate from the Joint Commission International (JCI). It also received the ISO 15189 accreditation certificate from the Jordanian Accreditation System (JAS), and was granted an accreditation award by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC).
